Helsinki/FIN and Bonheiden/BEL

Sunday, the World dog Show 2014 was held in Helsinki Finland. 20.000 dogs during 3 days, a perfectly organized Show. In fact we had to be there as well, but the long distance and the costs for travelling stopped us from going. In 1999 I had the will and energy for this. In spite the fact that we didn go, there is something to be proud of. The world Winner  Males, Best Of Breed and 3rd in FCI Group 1, is a child of Ch. Firstprizebears Carmel and is called: Ch.Paradise For Dirty Talking. His father is: Ch. Vaillant de Chester, bred and owned by Regina Gerasimenko from Russia. Congratulation to Regina.

In Bonheiden/BEL, the traditional Clubmatch by the Belgian Bearded Collie Club was held. The hall on this beautiful terrain, in fact is a little too small. Therefore, the organizing Committee, had decided to turn it into a summer Show. The Club, 7 hard working Committee members, had organized a wonderful Show. We where here for the first time. The Judge, Mrs. Glenda O’Connell from the United Kingdom was an interesting judge and we where in the mood for a cosy show. 71 Beardies had been entered, one more than the World Show in Helsinki had.

Nora had made it herself comfortable together with Prada in the other Bench.

She,“Firstprizebears Nora Jones” had her Show debut with her 4,5 months. She did it perfectly. Harry is her great hero and he didn want anyone else showing her, so he did it himself. Both gave a perfect performance. Unfortunately Nora became 5th of 6 puppies. We didn ask the judge why. In Belgium you do not receive a judging report.

“Prada” Firstprizebears Meryl Streep“, stood in a well occupied Intermediate Class. With her 17 months of age, she was the youngest in this Class. Here, “Prada” shows het beautiful long reaching movement.

at the end of the day, Reserve Best bitch of the Show. Winner was the Bitch from the Intermediate Class, “Braemoors Simply an Angel” of Els Jansen. The judge, Mrs. O’Connell,  with the rosettes for the winners.

“Schoko” Ch. Firstprizebears Liz Taylor started in the Champion Class, which was occupied with 7 Bitches. With her 28 months she was the youngest in this Class and all others where much older .We still had a little bit of sunshine, when all of a sudden it started to rain heavily. we all fled into the Hall. Here the judging continued. Also Schoko showed her beautiful movement, here still on the wonderful grass of the outdoor ring.

At the 1st Place, Debora Raquet met Farmarens Just a blue Star. On the 2nd Place Vicky van Tiggelen with Ch. Firstprizebears Just Beat-it and we ended 3rd with Schoko “Firstprizebears Liz Taylor”

it was a wonderful day, in spite the heavy rainfall. To end the wonderful day there was a nice get together in the Clubhouse.
