Firstprizebears Enfield English Champion

To win within the breed,  in the land of origin is something special. For our Beardies this is the United Kingdom or Great Brittan. Numerous shows are organized over here, with an average of 100 to130 Beardies. About 5 to 7 years ago this was between 175 and 200.

Alberto Sanchez and Christina Andres had “Lee”, after he had won everything you can think of with Lenka and later with me, placed with Linda Peirsson. Linda was delighted that she could show Lee in the UK. And, Lee didn’t disappoint us.

Last Sunday was the big day. In Belfast, Lee won his 3rd CC with Best of Breed and with this the title English Champion. Judge was Mr. Kane/UK. For our breed this is something special. The fact is that Lee is the 3rd beardie in our breed who managed to achieve this. It started in 2002 with Ch. Firstprizebears Vancouver, who managed to win this title as first dog from the continent. Besides, at the famous Crufts in 2001 he won Res-CC. In 2005 it was Ch Firstprizebears Apache, also at the Belfast show, who won his 3rd CC. Actually, Belfast is a déjà-vu. In 2009 at Crufts, it was Apache who, out of 300 beardies, won his 4th CC and since then no other overseas beardie has managed to equal this.

During Crufts 2009 it was “Enfield” who was successful and won the o so powerful Open Class Males. The ladies have also shown what they are worth. Firstprizebears Cony Island won Res-CC.

Our Thanks goes to Alberto and Cristina and of course to Linda Peirsson. A wonderful European cooperation. THANKS
